Most of my commissions consist of dogs and other animals.  However, I have also worked on a wide range of subjects for clients including charcoal portraits of children, farmhouses, figures, and re-creations similar to paintings that have previously sold. 

For my pet commissions I like to get a sense of their personality and when possible I like to meet them in person. If I cannot meet the pet in person I generally like to have several pictures as well as a thorough description of their personality and favorite pastimes.
