Christmas Art Commissions

Here are a few of the Christmas commissions out of Claire Dunaway Studios this year. In the mix of wonderfully adorable dogs I was lucky enough to be chosen to paint, I got to paint a large ’57 Chevy as well. Due to our move I took on a few less Christmas commissions this year to ensure that each painting got the time and attention it deserved.

Teachers Pay Teachers!

Back before days of multiple furlough days we art teachers (in our school system) used to enjoy regular opportunities to collaborate and share lessons and ideas. For our unique classrooms (elementary art), we all agreed that our time together was more helpful than any speaker, workshop or training money could buy. Unfortunately most of those days we used to enjoy have turned into furlough days and necessary training days (the time of technology is here and the potential is pretty astounding… that’s a different discussion though). I’ve missed the regular collaboration dearly and I feel that fellow teachers are an amazing resource! Enter Teachers Pay Teachers

October Newsletter

I’ve missed sending several newsletters and creating new blog posts lately but I promise I have a good excuse! The house (including my studio and the office of Jason Cyr Design) went under contract in August and we closed in September. It’s been a very exciting time and although I’ve moved out of small spaces with limited items in college and in Park City, I have never moved out of an entire house. My hat is off to those of you who move out of a house with kids; I cannot imagine! The amount of pouting that came from me when Jason forced me to pack things when I was not in the mood to do so was equivalent to 10 kids and my art materials were enough to fill half a pod.

A Gift Idea for the Art Lover in Your Life!

The months leading up to Christmas are usually the busiest time for me and I am grateful for several events and many commissions of mostly canine love (and some feline and car love, too!). The window is closing on Christmas orders as I am careful to ensure that each commission gets the love and attention it deserves.
